Dale Erwin Graddy

Dale Erwin Graddy, 85, passed away on October 2, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN, with his only daughter by his side. He was born August 17, 1928, in Ecru, MS to the late Sumner Austin and Elizabeth Augusta Graddy. He attended high school at Ecru High School and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Agriculture. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church for 30 years. He was happily married for 48 years to Frances Cornelius Graddy until her death in 2000. He worked primarily in the dairy business in both the milk and ice cream divisions of Sealtest and Midwest Farms until retirement. In his early years he enjoyed golfing, water skiing, friendly card games, travel and family time. He was predeceased by his sister Anna John Jackson of Brandon, MS. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Graddy Lawson (Jeff Lawson) of Collierville, TN; two grandchildren, Christine Elyse Lawson of Cordova, TN and Alexandra Nicole Lawson of Collierville, TN; and two sisters, Fannye John Bost of Amory, MS and Martha Helen Thomas of Platte City, KS. Services will be held Monday, October 7, at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc, MS at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m.
