Dorothy McKnight

Mrs. McKnight died on Friday at her residence. She was born in Pontotoc on December 7, 1919 to the late Seymour Herman and Lorena Jackson Prater. She was a homemaker, loved gardening, sewing, cooking, taking care of her family, was an active member of Toxish Baptist Church and a member of the Beckham Homemakers Club.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Boone McKnight; two brothers, Sammy Ray and Jack Prater; and one sister, Omelia White.

Survivors include her four sons, Danny McKnight and wife Janice, Mickey McKnight and wife Linda, Kenny McKnight and wife Debbie, Joey McKnight and wife Katie; one daughter, Kathy Wood; one sister, Annie Lee Warren all of Pontotoc; one brother, Daniel Prater and wife Joan of Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren: Dan McKnight, Jan Houser and Mitt, Steve Hamlin and Shellie, Robbie Hamlin, Angie Moody and Brent, Jeremy McKnight and Anna, Jared McKnight, Lacie McKnight, Jonathan McKnight, Andrew McKnight, Anna McKnight and Bryan Wood and Tiffany;11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Janice Watson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
