Harold Reeder

Harold Leake Reeder, age 83, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. He was born February 8, 1933 to Othniel and Maudie Bell Little Reeder. He graduated from Ecru High School and retired from the furniture manufacturing industry where he worked in the pattern department. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. He spent the last three years living at Magnolia Manor in Tupelo. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Cherry Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Reeder, Jeff Reeder and Rev. Roger Reeder officiating; burial will follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Reeder, a daughter, Karen (Barry) McLaughlin, three sons, Glen (Tammie) Reeder, Jeff (Vickie) Reeder and Roger (Dena) Reeder, a step-daughter, Tmora (Henry) Payne, a sister, Mable Huffstatler, eleven grandchildren, Miranda (Phil) Schoggen, Lauren Ann (Seth) Cobb, Ashley (John Mark) Jarrett, Matthew (Lianna) Reeder, Tarver Reeder, Drew (Holly) Reeder, Dylan Reeder, Elizabeth Reeder, Meggan Reeder, Morgan (Lee) Plaxico and Spencer Payne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and the Mother of his children, Ann Foster Reeder, and two sisters, Lula Mae Rowland and Sarah Punkin Bryant.

Pallbearers will be: Matthew Reeder, Tarver Reeder, Drew Reeder, Dylan Reeder, Phil Schoggen, Seth Cobb and John Mark Jarrett. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Mike Reeder, Jackie Reeder, Benny Moorman, Bruce McCoy and Abdo Gamal.

Visitation will be at Cherry Creek Baptist Church on Monday from 4 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 10 to 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cherry Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, Parking Lot, 245 Subertown Road, Ecru, MS 38841.
