Mable JoNell Dowdy Waters, age 83, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Pontotoc Health and Rehab. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She had previously worked at the Belden Wire Plant, the Pontotoc Chancery Clerk’s office in the late 70’s and early 80’s and was a desk clerk at the Pontotoc Inn.
She enjoyed spending time and caring for her cats.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Minister Carl E. Lawson officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her brother: Rudy Dowdy of Ecru, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clark Dowdy and Ocia Bailey Dowdy, her husband: William Aubry Waters, and five brothers: James “Jimmy” Dowdy, Dwight Dowdy, Charles Dowdy, Royce Dowdy and W.C. Dowdy.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Bell, Ricky Dowdy, Chuck Robbins, Mitch Dowdy, Mike Dowdy and Jeremy Whitehead.
Visitation will be from 10 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
