Junior Ray Russell

Junior Ray Russell, age 82, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was a retired truck driver with Churchill Trucking, and a member of the Teamsters #667. He was a Deacon and attended church at Holly Grove Presbyterian Church. He was a Mason with the Normal Lodge, an avid gardener. He loved sports and was faithful St. Louis Cardinal’s and Memphis Tiger’s fan.

Services will be at 11 AM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Old Union Nazarene Church with Dr. Freeman Weems officiating; burial will follow in Old Union Nazarene Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his two daughters: Toni Kirby (Terry) of Brighton, TN and Sherrie Ann Escue (Wayne) of Hickory With, TN; two sons: Danny Russell of Brighton, TN and Andy Russell (Ginger) of Memphis, TN; one sister: Quinn Russell Quillian of Pleasant Dale; one brother: Eberl Russell of Eads, TN; eight grandchildren: Anthony Kirby, Jason Kirby, Dawn Nolen, Jeff Tackett, Steve Tackett, Russell Tackett, Jeremy Russell and Brian Bennett; and sixteen great grandchildren:

William Kirby, Ellie Pate Kirby, Logan Kirby, Josie Kirby, Cassidy Kirby, Tanner Nolen, Tucker Nolen, Tayler Nolen, Jake Russell, Michael Tackett, Breann Tackett, Hunter Tackett, Hayden Tackett, Skyler Tackett, Willow Tackett and Samuel Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James H. Russell and Lena Willard Russell; his wife: Bobbie Ruth Tubbs Russell; and three brothers: Clay Russell, Clovis Russell and James Norris Russell.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
