Marsha Shrader

Marsha Bevill Shrader, 75, died suddenly at home on January 18th, 2023. Daughter of the late Culley Bevill and the late Thelma Bevill, Marsha was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Born in Pontotoc, MS, Marsha graduated from Treadwell Highschool in 1965. One of her joys in life was planning and attending her Class of 1965 reunions. Marsha raised her son Wade in Pontotoc, Mississippi where she fed the entire football and baseball teams regularly. Wade and his teammates still talk about her famous lasagna to this day. Her grandchildren will remember their “Grandmar” as, among other things, a skilled storyteller, balloon rescuer, and gift wrapper extraordinaire.

Wherever Marsha lived, the stray, straggling dogs found her; she opened her home to many beloved dogs throughout her life. Marsha is survived by her beloved sister, Teresa Wood of Pontotoc; her son, Wade Shrader, daughter in law Carol, and grandchildren Benjamin, Mason, Claire, and Cate, all of Delaware; her nephew Mitchell Wood (Tonya) of Pontotoc; niece Starr Brown (Ross) of Pontotoc; niece Robin Seale (Lawrence) of Pontotoc; great niece Ali Carnes (Adam) of Pontotoc; great nephew Bryan Wood (Tiffany) of Pontotoc; great nephew Zachary Seales of Pontotoc; and favorite cousin Thyra Smith of Memphis. She is also survived by four precious great great nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a visitation Sunday, from 1-3 pm, at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Donations made to The American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) will be used to honor Marsha Shrader through an organization that is near and dear to the Shrader family.
