Roberta Lynne Nabors

Roberta Lynne Johnson Nabors, age 70, joined her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 23, 2014 from the Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo, MS. She was endlessly devoted to her faith, family and career as manager of Dollar Tree in Pontotoc, MS. Evidenced by her music ministry was Roberta’s love of gospel and spiritual music. As a young lady, she served as pianist and organist at West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS. Later, Roberta served as organist at the Tupelo Church of the Nazarene, where she worshiped as a member. She attended Itawamba Junior College and Mississippi State University, where she served as majorette in the band.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 26, 2014 at West Heights Baptist Church, with Rev. Cecil Russell and Rev. Chad Higgins officiating; burial service will follow at the Campground Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband: Cecil Roy Nabors of New Albany, MS; her sons: Michael Kevin Nabors (Stacy) of Brownsburg, IN and Jason Lee Nabors (Eleanor) of Batesville, MS; her sister: Carolyn Higgins of Algoma, MS; four grandchildren: Krystal Lee Smith Stewart (John), Drew Michael Nabors, Bryce Jeffrey Nabors and John Thomas Nabors.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert Lee Johnson and Christine McDonald Johnson; her son: Jeffrey Noah Nabors and a brother-in-law: Jimmy Higgins.

Pallbearers are: Gary Higgins, Drew Nabors, Sherwyn Nabors, T.J. Higgins, Steven Higgins and John Staten. Honorary pallbearers will be: Doc Freeman, Bryce Nabors and John Nabors.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Saturday, October 25, at the funeral home and on Sunday from 1 to 2 PM at West Heights Baptist Church.
