Sarah Hardy Weatherly

Sarah Hardy Weatherly, age 91, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Graceland Care Center in Pontotoc. She was a member of Ecru Baptist Church and retired from Brookwood Furniture Manufacturing. She enjoyed baking for others, painting, crocheting, her plants and playing with her Granpuppy, “Aggie”.

Services will be at 2 PM Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Rev. Charles Stubblefield officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter: Leila Phillips (Rob Kendrick) of Mooreville, MS; one niece: Diane Hardy Pollard; one great-niece: Lindsey Pollard, one great-nephew: Jason Pollard, two great-great-nephews: Miles and Owen Pollard, and a special family friend, Harvey Hillard.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolphus Hardy and Mamie Lou Andrews Hardy and a brother: Howard Hardy.

Pallbearers will be the Lewis McGee, Waymon Bigham, Rex Mooney, Sonny Stubblefield, Charles Mitchell and Charlie Stubblefield. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sherald Weeks and Joe Sansing.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 1 to 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
