Shirley Ann Washington, age 80, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at her residence. She was born on April 21, 1943 to Ivian and Juanita McVay Michael. Shirley was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was a retired factory worker. Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, spending time with her family and attending church with her church family.
Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church, with Rev. J ason Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Jericho Cemetery in Guntown. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the Washington family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Washington; three daughters, Marie Jones (Rick) of Pontotoc, MS, Julia Washington, Pontotoc, MS, and Patty Holcomb (Mark) of Pontotoc, MS; three sons, Bobby Davis (Becky) of Ecru, MS, James Davis, of Pontotoc, MS, and Steve Davis (Nicole) of New Albany, MS; three sisters, Betty Kaplan, Glenda Russell and Sarah Kelly; three brothers, Charles Michael, Earl Michael and Bobby Joe Michael; nine grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Earl Davis and Jason Washington; two sisters, Martha Lee and Peggy Thompson; and a brother, Joe Michael.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mace, Scotty Michael, Christopher Michael, Brandon Michael, Mark Holcomb and Rick Jones.
Visitation will be from 11 to 1 PM, Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church.
