

February 16, 2015, surrounded in love by his family and friends. Travis served and fought
for his country with the 101st Airborne Division of the Army in Vietnam. He was an active member
of the American Legion Post 16 in Pontotoc. He served as a deacon at his beloved church,
In Good Faith Baptist Church. His love for his Lord, family and friends was evident in his life, as well as,
his skilled craftsmanship as a carpenter was proven in the quality of the many homes and churches he
built in our area.
Travis is survived by his wife, the love of his life for over 45 years, Charlotte Voyles Jenkins, his children,
Nicole Travis Carter and husband Brian; Wiley Alan Jenkins and wife Jessica; five grandchildren: Taylor Carter,
Jala Ross, Tyler Carter, Molly Jenkins and Kiley Jenkins, his in-laws, Fred and Linda Voyles; his brothers and sisters:
Wanda and Mike Daniels, Ray and Ruby Voyles, Jan and Joe Cayson, Robert and Jill Voyles, Clay Wright and Herbert
and Betty Jenkins and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Flora Jenkins, sisters: Janet Wright, Janice Sexton, Yvette Jenkins
and his daughter-in-law: Jodi Jenkins.
A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2015 at In Good Faith Baptist Church off Rocky Ford Road,
with his pastor, Bro. Kevin Nichols, Bro. Billy Nelson and his nephew Seth Sutton, conducting the service. All are welcome
to attend and help us, “Celebrate him Home’! Graveside services will follow in the Voyles Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be at In Good Faith Baptist Church on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
