
Wayne Killebrew, age 78, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was a member of Toxish Baptist Church, a Mason, a Shriner, the Eastern Star, the Retired Teachers Association, the American Legion and the Gideons’s. He was a graduate of MSU where he earned his Specialists Degree in Education. He was a teacher at the Vo-Tech in Kemper County where he was later the Director and served as the Superintendent of Kemper County Schools for 8 years. He was an Army Veteran.
Services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hamilton and Rev. Dan Robertson officiating; burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife: Frances Sneed Killebrew of Pontotoc, MS; his three daughters: Betsy Knight (Charles) of Fulton,MS; Laurie Ustianowski (Robert) of Palatka, FL and Melinda Fuller (Robby) of Louisville, MS; a brother: Bobby Eugene Killebrew of Forrest, MS; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Millard Eugene Killebrew and Bessie Farrish Killebrew; his wife: Betty Jean Rackley Killebrew and a brother: Billy Joe Killebrew.
Pallbearers will the Masonic Lodge members.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday and from 12 to 2 PM Tuesday.
