Birdie Janet Tate

Mrs. Tate was born November 23, 1941 in Morton, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and a member of Juniper Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Houston Ray and Yonnie Butters (Harvey, Sr.) Prince; one son, William Art Massey; one granddaughter, Tonya Lynette Williams; three siblings, Harvey Prince, Jr., Ivy Gale Higginbotham, and Caroline McCullogh.

Family members include her husband of 41 years, Edward O. Tate; one daughter, Tammy Massey; two siblings, Howard Joseph Prince, Darlene White; two grandchildren, William James Williams and Dee Anne Rutherford; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Juniper Grove Baptist Church (289 Juniper Grove Road, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 pm, Tuesday at the church.
