

Funeral services will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 75 Powell Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Mr. Stanford was born July 9, 1929 in Lumberton, MS to Warren A. and Ida Howard Stanford. He was a self-employed trucking contractor and owner of Stanford Oil Company. He was a lifelong member of Springhill Baptist Church in Lumberton and a deacon for 62 years. Mr. Stanford served on the Board of Trustees for Pearl River County Hospital & Nursing Home from 1988-1997.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ina Mae Pardue Stanford; one infant daughter; one infant son; one infant granddaughter; one sister, Onnie Lee Bryant and two brothers, Ott Stanford and Earl Stanford.
Family members include three daughters, Dianne (Mike) Barrett; Robin (Clyde) Sellers, Renay (Ronnie) Rigney; 6 grandchildren: Kevin (Emily) Barrett; Sherry (Brandon) Passman; Lori (Zack) Barrett; Lindsey (Chris) Martin; Ryan (Salma) Rigney; Kelly (Austin) Smith and 14 great grandchildren: Emma Brown, Riley Passman, Anna Presley Barrett, Libby Wells, Josey Barrett, Abeni Barrett, Annistan Barrett, Ila Martin, Gwen Martin, Izzy Martin, Sylvi Martin, Julius Rigney, Sage Rigney, and Rigney Smith.
Mr. Stanford was an active 92 year old until late 2021 who loved tending to his cattle, driving his tractor and visiting with family and friends. He was a gifted mechanic and woodworker who loved camping, fishing, and gospel music. Most of all he loved God, his family, his church family and his country.
The Stanford family would like to extend their thanks to Springhill Baptist Church and to the Men’s Sunday School Class for all the years that you ministered to and prayed for Dad. You were dearly loved by D.O. Stanford. Thank you also to Solace Hospice, Nurse Jennifer Lee, CNA Beth Lee, and Chaplain Ryan Swilley. Your compassionate care and support to our family was appreciated more than you will ever know.
