Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 16, 2011 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville for Mr. Earl Smith, 78, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died Saturday August 13, 2011 at his residence in the care of his family. Brother Brad Ford and Brother Walter Pierce will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Poplarville.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Poplarville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katie Smith of Poplarville, MS; two sons, Jerry D. Smith of Poplarville, MS and Kenneth R. Smith of Hattiesburg, MS; one daughter, Sheila Smith of St. Marys, GA; one sister, Hazel Penton of Lee's Creek, LA; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Onetia Jarrell Smith.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday August 15, 2011 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.
