

Ed was born December 19, 1942 in Laurel, Mississippi to Edwin Earl Duncan, Sr. and Mildred Lorine Lowe Duncan. Throughout his professional life, Ed was a public servant. He began his career in the United States Army as a helicopter Crew Chief. Later, he served at Keesler Air Force Base in the Hurricane Hunter Squadron. He then transferred to a Special Operations Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. In his civilian career, he was an Operations Superintendent at Wright Civil Engineering Laboratories at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. He retired from USAF Reserves and federal civil service. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lumberton and Knights of Columbus. He married the former Mary Lou Abbate on April 14, 1990 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Richard Duncan; one brother, David Duncan; and one grandson, Noah Duncan Loll.
Family members include his wife of 28 years, Mary Lou Abbate Duncan; two children, Deborah (Jeff) Cullen, Edwin Earl “Eddie” Duncan, III; four sisters, Nita (George) Smith, Barbara Duncan, Theresa (Scott) Martino, Connie Freeman; grandchildren, Nathan (Victoria) Loll, Nicholas Loll, Mariah Duncan; great grandchild, Addelynn Loll; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 379 W Seneca Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Fr. Fintan Kilmurray will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:30 am until services, Monday at the church.
