

Mass of Christian Burial will be at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 12 Bilbo Hill Drive, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. Fr. Fintan Kilmurray will serve as celebrant. Private burial will occur at a later date in Natchez, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Dixon was born October 19, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Herbert St. Clair Dixon, Sr. and Doris Murden Dixon. He was a retired Master Mechanic with Boh Brothers Construction Company for 42 years; a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local 406; served his country proudly in the Louisiana Army National Guard, Washington Artillery; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; and a benefactor of the Dixon Theater in Poplarville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Gracianette and Genevieve Dooley.
Family members include his wife, Jeanie McDonald Dixon; five sons, Mitchell (Angela) Dixon, Mark (Liam) Dixon, Paul (Michelle) Dixon, Hiram Smith, IV, Toxie (Donna) Smith; three daughters, Terry Dixon (Don) Daigrepont, Alyson (Craig) Toney, Rochelle (Scott) Holliday; one brother, Jules Dixon; one sister, Mary Carolyn Bass; eighteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and his Favorite Dog, “Cracker”.
