James "Jamie" Farmer

Jamie Farmer, of Poplarville, MS, passed from this life on April 17, 2025 at the age of 53. Born on December 14, 1971, in Picayune, MS, Jamie’s life was marked by deep love, quick wit and a gift to see the good in those around him.

He deeply loved his wife Brandy Farmer, and together they shared a bond that left a lasting imprint on his heart. Jamie was a proud and loving father to Morgan Owen (Jobey) and Jadyn Farmer, and an energetic “Dee” to his grandchildren Vayda, Jennyn, and Kash- who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

He is also survived by his parents, Lois and Clelly Farmer, who he loved dearly, his brothers Kelly Farmer and Clayton (Tonya) Farmer, and host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his cherished Granny, Maxine Amacker.

Jamie wore many career hats throughout his lifetime and his role as a claims adjuster was one he excelled in and enjoyed. He was a jack of all trades and if you had a question, he had an answer. He was generous in spirit, quick to encourage and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He had a nickname for most everyone he met and more made up words than Webster could ever hold.

His ability to bring joy was unmatched. Jamie could fill a room with laughter, those good belly laughs, in an instant-never trying too hard, just naturally gifted with humor. Much like his wit, his storytelling was legendary, often starting with a simple moment and a few kids to somehow captivating every listener around by the end.

He loved his family. He loved his little dog, Wootsie, who rarely left his side, and he loved the Lord. He had faith, extended grace and believed in redemption. He was a friend to the friendless, a cheerleader for the underdog, and someone who believed in goodness-even in the face of hardship.

Jamie was a friend to many, a joyous light in countless lives, and someone who always knew how to make others feel seen and valued. His love, laughter and unforgettable presence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
