Joseph Byrd

Mr. Byrd was born April 3, 1936 to J.D. Byrd and Veola Burge Byrd. He was retired from Cooper Power Systems and a cattle farmer. He was a member and Deacon of Olive Baptist Church and an United States Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Reyer Byrd; one son, Douglas Raymond Byrd; and two brothers, Ralph Byrd, Larry Byrd.

Family members include two daughters, Karen Wise (Paul Wise), Rhonda Gail Byrd (Kent Deschamp); four grandchildren, Ryan Wise (fiance' Rose Cochran), Jeremy Wise (Kimberly), Joseph Gilkey, Annelise Blakeney; one great grandchild, Madison Wise.

Funeral services will be at OLIVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 30 Olive Church Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Olive Baptist Church - to benefit General Ministries and Peruvian Missions.
