Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday March 24, 2012 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville for Mr. Larry Rex Smith, 72, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died Monday March 19, 2012 at his residence. Brother Breaux Tageant will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Juniper Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a carpenter and a member of Juniper Grove Baptist Church, Poplarville.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lamar and Eva Lumpkin Smith; one son, Charlie Ray Tate; two brothers, Elwood Smith and Thomas Wesley Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Ruth Simmons Tate-Smith of Poplarville, MS; one son, Clayton Tate, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Independence, LA; two daughters, Linda Nicolosi and her husband Tony of Poplarville, MS and Brenda Balbero and her husband Paul of Poplarville, MS; one daughter-in-law, Diane Tate of Independence, LA; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren; one niece, Angela Bedwell of Poplarville, MS; and one nephew, Terry Smith of Poplarville, MS; and two sisters-in-law, Mertice Smith and Cleo Smith, both of Poplarville, MS.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday March 24, 2012 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.
