

Lewis Walter Sabree passed from this life into the Lords presence on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the age of 94. He was born to Lewis and Edna Sabree in Lexington, Kentucky where he lived until joining the United States Air Force where he obtained his Helicopter Maintenance Instructor certification. Lewis attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Miami. He had an adventurous career as a pilot, starting with his private pilot’s license, commercial rating, seaplane rating and his A&E maintenance Certification. In 1961, he met his wife Kathryn Sabree, and he flew regional Keller Aviation routes from Miami to the Bahamas. In 1964, Lewis and Kathryn moved to Picayune, Mississippi where he flew a B-25 Bomber to South America transporting exotic animals. They’d later move to Indiana where he flew Sabreline corporate jets for the remainder of his career. He was a Kentucky Colonel, loved to shoot, fly r/c airplanes and woodworking.
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Edna Sabree and his wife of 46 years, Kathryn Sabree and his brother, Denney Sabree.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his brother, daughter, Jan Farnsworth (Brent) of Diamondhead, MS; three sons, Steve Sabree (Anna) of Pass Christian, MS, Jay Sabree (Joy) of Picayune, MS and Jeffrey Sabree of Diamondhead, MS; grandchildren, Richard Donaghy, Harry Crider, William Sabree, Benjamin Sabree, Patrick Sabree, Matthew Sabree, Joshua Sabree and Sarah Sabree. Lewis also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held by his family at a later date.
