He was born in New Orleans, LA on April 11, 1940. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Elaine Gaspard Maher, who is
jealous of angels, as she cherishes each moment of her life with him. His children, Michelle, Michael Jr. (Rose), Marlene, Mitchell Sr. (Donielle), Mark Sr. (Tracey), Melanie (Rhett), Monica (Jerry), and Matthew Sr., his grandchildren, Carlos Jr.,
Mikey, Chris, Angie, Kristina, Kristian, Kandice, Shannon, Jennifer, Lil Sal, Lil Jimmy, Lil Mitch, Mason, Lil Mark, Donavan, Megan, Montanna, Joelle, Christyn, Lil Matt, Adisson, and Aubree and great grandchildren, Rowan, Rylee, Lil Chris, Greg,
Sophia, Gabe, Sal III, Kiersten, Jordan, James, Julian, Jace, Braelyn, and Josh Jr., will always have a lifetime filled with memories of a great man, who found the love of a great woman, and are blessed to be a part of it all. They got to witness
first hand on how you can accomplish anything, as long as you put your whole heart into it. His brothers, Edward Sr. and Dennis Maher, will carry on the Maher ways, headstrong and full of pride. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
As his journey ends here, he will be joining his daughter Melinda (Sal) who was front row at those
gates, waiting to dance with him again, his parents, Frank and Josephine Brizzolari Maher, sister Agnes, and
brothers Frank, Robert, Jerome, John and Joseph are "Glad they get to see him again." His Mossy
Motors family, where he worked for 44 years, will share memories for years to come about his passion and dedication for getting the job done.
He touched so many lives, and they touched his. So many friends and neighbors will have
nothing but love and respect, for the man who was everybody's Dad or brother. Mike, you have done everything in this life that you set out to do. You married a great woman, raised a strong family, worked hard for everything got, and never
minded giving everything you had to your family, or anyone else in need. You never backed down from anything that life threw at you, or anybody for that matter. You made what was thought to be UNREAL, a reality. You are our rock, our real-life Superhero, and we will keep you with us always. Farewell Superman! Go rest high on that mountain!
Family and friends are asked to attend a Farewell Party in his honor on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Elks Lodge at 2215 Cleary Ave., Metairie, LA 70001 from 12p.m. to 4p.m.
