Nelda Gay “Nanny” Lee, 69, of Poplarville, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Wesley Medical Center, Hattiesburg.

Mrs. Lee was born March 9, 1952 in Picayune to Horace Ladner and Jeanette Smith Ladner. She was a retired Nurse’s Aide with Pearl River County Hospital. She was a member of Hickory Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Horace Allen Ladner, Sr., Roger Dean Ladner, Sr., Arnold Lee Ladner, Sr.; two great granddaughters, Aubrey Carroll, Raegan Mae Lee; and one son-in-law, Joseph Busha.

Family members include her husband 46 years, Braxton Lee; four children, Horace Curry Wheat (Natalie), Tiffany Busha, Melissa Nanette Holston, Alana Danyus; three god children, Deana Saucier, Duke Ladner, Arnie Ladner; eight grandchildren, Curry, Kara (Matt), Dillon (Jenny), Amber, Kim, Paul, Jestin, Erica; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home (315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery, No. 1. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
