Neveal Price Bowman

Mrs. Bowman, lovingly known as “Mrs. Neveal” to her friends, was born March 22, 1933, in Lake Providence, Louisiana. She was the third of eight siblings. As a young woman she began her own family with her husband and raising their nine children. They moved to Pearl River County in 1970 where she resided until her death. She enjoyed spending her time traveling in the late 90’s with her brothers Mike and Willie and their spouses. She also enjoyed going out on drives and vacations with her adult children and grandchildren. Her main focus in life was the welfare of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and more. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of Derby Place Missionary Baptist Church. First and foremost, Mrs. Neveal was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. No matter the situation, Mrs. Neveal was always a strong and resilient person.

Mrs. Neveal was preceded in death by her parents Robert W. and Gladys L. Price, her five brothers Robert Jr, Kenneth, Willie, James, and Mike Price, her two sisters Doris Kinney and Estelle Allen. She is also preceded in death by her husband James (JB) Bowman, one daughter Audrey Bowman McDaniel, one son James E. Bowman two grandchildren, Michael Bowman and John Wayne Drasgow and three sons in law, L.D (Jim) McDaniel, James (Jim) Drasgow and Walter Hansford.

Mrs. Neveal’s surviving family includes seven children: Jimmy A. Bowman (Ann), Franklin P. Bowman (Shelia), Barbara Bowman Drasgow, Robert W. Bowman, Troy Douglas Bowman, Lisa Bowman Stokes, and Golden Child- David Kelly Bowman. Honorary “7th Son” W.A. Hennes. 25 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Neveal's visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Derby Place Missionary Baptist Church, located at 9675 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi.

Mrs. Neveal's funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Derby Place Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Derby Place Cemetery.
