Patsy Witsell

Patsy was born to the late Jesse and Edna Smith on February 9, 1941, the youngest of seven children. She was a graduate of Poplarville High School, Pearl River Community College and University of Southern Mississippi. She worked most of her adult life in banking, before retiring from Bank Plus in 2005. Patsy loved her flowers and gardening and was an avid reader.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Edna Sones Smith; two brothers: Jesse Smith, Jr. and James Byrd Smith; three sisters: Dorothy Smith, Fran Murray and Georgia Morris.

She is survived by one brother: Ben (Elaine) Smith; two sons, Rex Witsell and Bill (Beth) Witsell; five grandchildren, Regan Witsell, Bryson Witsell, Jayden Witsell, Jill Witsell and Kate Witsell and one great grandchild, Elliott Moody.

"Aunt Pat" also leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including a special niece, Mandy Smith.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Pearl River County Hospital and Nursing Home and Arden Hospice for their loving care over the last few months.

In keeping with her wishes, no funeral will be held. The family will have a private graveside service at a later time.
