Born on June 1, 1954 in Poplarville, MS, Bob was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, Connie Barrett, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. He spent much of his career in the oil and gas industry, taking great pride in his work on the production side of the business.
Family was everything to Bob. He was a proud father to his daughter, Kelly Wagner (Brian) of Hattiesburg, MS and his son, Chevis Barrett (Amber) of Mobile, AL. He found his greatest joy in being “Pop” to his grandchildren: Addysen Wagner, Barrett Wagner, Addyson Cates, and Marielle Barrett. To his family, Bob was a protector, a teacher, and a best friend.
Bob had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing and golf. To know him was to love him. His kindness, quiet strength, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Wilma Faye Barrett. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Barrett; his children; his brother, Michael Barrett (Dianne); his sister, Charla Knight (Chuck); his 4 grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A private memorial service will be held. Bob’s legacy of love, devotion and integrity will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
