Robert Earl Scott Sr.

Mr. Scott was born May 13, 1938 McNeill, Mississippi to Walter Cobe Scott and Ruby Sones Scott. He was retired from the timber industry and a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Jeanette Whitfield Scott; one sister, Carol Scott Strickland; and one brother, Walter Scott.

Family members include his wife Nan Pigott Scott of Poplarville; four children, Robert Earl "Rusty" Scott, Jr., Martha (Paul) Miller, Shelly Scott, Robin Scott; five grandchildren, Paige (Cody) Ladner, Dre` (Jonathan) Sanderson, Carsen Miller, Raven Sones, River Sones; three great grandchildren, Fynlea Ladner, Maze Ladner, Millee Ladner; two sisters, Martha (Albert) Prince, Rosemary Boyte; a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ben Smith, Sonny Sones, Ray Walker, Ed Penton, Richard Sones, and Horace Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at Sones Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation after 6:00 pm on Thursday at the church and Friday morning until services.

The family respectfully requests all visitors to observe current social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church of Picayune, Sones Chapel Baptist Church, or Olive Bapitst Church, Lumberton.
