Stanley “Dale” Smith departed this life into God's presence on Friday, May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. Dale was a man known for his warm heart and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved to joke and had a way of making people smile, even in the simplest moments. His love for his wife was deep and steadfast and he took great pride in his children and grandchildren, whom he cherished and protected fiercely.
A skilled mechanic by trade, Dale built a reputation not only for his expertise but for his passion for his work. He was proud of his business and was widely known as “The Carburetor Man,” a title that reflected both his talent and dedication. His work was more than a job, it was a source of pride and purpose. Outside of his work, Dale found happiness in cooking and grilling, often bringing family together around good food and shared memories. These moments were among the many ways he showed his love.
Dale lived by his faith and his principles. He was known for saying that his supervisor was God, and that he answered to only two people: his supervisor and his wife—a reflection of both his humor and his deep beliefs. Above all, Dale will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the strength with which he stood by his family, and the laughter he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Virginia Smith.
Left to forever cherish Dale's memory his loving wife of 31 years, Rachel Smith; four children, Ashley Brooke Couch (Ronnie), Micheal Odom, Wesley Odom and Chezly Fulks (Adam); five grandchildren, Landen, Nolen, Bristal, Ryan and Jacy; two sisters, Darlene King and Rhonda Byrd (Anthony); one brother, Stacy Smith (Tammy); numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Dale's visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi. His funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.
