Funeral services will be at BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 7451 Highway 43, Poplarville on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Billy Kent Smith and Bro. Print Wheat will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Kennedy Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services, Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Wheat was born January 9, 1934 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi to Willie Ottis Polk and Bessie Lee Blunt Polk. She was a retired Shipping Clerk with Movie Star, Incorporated and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jo Barber; and one brother, Woodrow Polk.

Family members include her husband of 19 years, Marion Cecil Wheat; two stepsons, Stanley Wheat (Cathy) of Bogalusa, Ronnie Wheat (Carol) of Brandon, MS; three brothers, Tommy Polk of Picayune, Milton Polk of Perkinston, Willard Polk of Hammond; five stepchildren; five step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
