Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Alice Wagstaff, Alan is survived by his son Nahshon (Denise Molnar) and daughter Sasha Brown (Kendal Kelly), his grandchildren Chance Brown, Angus Brown, & Trevor Molnar, his brother Ian Wagstaff and sister Patricia Gargaro (Michael) and a host of nieces and their families.
Known to many as “The Colonel”, Al spent 45 years in Tofino. He worked for the Coast Guard, in the fishing industry, and offered tourists an opportunity to see the area he loved through motorboat and later, canoe rentals. Apart from raising his kids, creating art was Alan’s true love. The beauty of the coast, and its people inspired him continually. He had some treasured friendships there and in his heart, Tofino was always be home.
A private family gathering to place to rest Alan’s cremated remains will take place at a later date. Stories, which would be gratefully appreciated as Alan had a lot of entertaining times, and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
