It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Bernadette was born in Cutknife, Saskatchewan and she was 1 of 16 children. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Paul and 10 of her siblings, Bernadette is survived by her family: children Susan Cooper, Diane Blair (Ray), Jack Derish (Shelley), Debra Miller (Leonard) and Sally Steeves as well as 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 brothers: Ben Ramsay (Rose), Andrew Ramsay (Wendy), Luke Ramsay (Bonnie) and Michael Ramsay, 1 sister Laurette Ramsay and many nieces and nephews.
Bernadette was devoted to her family and what made her happiest was when she could do something to make us happy, whether it be a feast of perogies, or a 4 tier black forest cake, homemade root beer or popcorn balls. There was always a plate of treats. Always when you entered the back door you could count on the biggest loving hug and her time. Bernadette always lived on a hobby farm, big gardens and animals to care for. She was never far from Paul’s side. In hunting season, she was his hunting partner, and other times she would just enjoy going for rides to see how many deer they could find, or a ride to Whiskey Creek for a big ice cream cone, or just relax on the back porch watching the deer or pheasants that would visit their back yard, all the while having hummingbirds buzzing all around them.
Bernadette was a member of Elim Tabernacle Church and loved being a Sunday School assistant. Being able to just hold and give comfort to any child that might need it. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.
A visitation will take place from 6:30pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005-6th Avenue. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Elim Tabernacle, 3946 Wallace Street with Rev. Les Schrader officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
