June 22nd,1940- December 21st,2024.

FOREVER LOVED AND REMEMBERED

It's with Heavy Hearts, yet Grateful Hearts that the Heiman Family announce the Passing of Our Dearest Nana and Mother.

Mother was Born in Chester Nova Scotia. The Outdoors/activities and snowy winters were all very common and Mother occasionally shared funny stories about her formative years.

Mother Loved Her Grandparents who both Truly nurtured Mother with Their Love, Harden and Little queenie as her Grandmother was known. Mother remembered her Uncle Owen taking a group of her friends to the Movie Theatre in his pick up truck and after giving them little jersey milk chocolate.That was a Fun memory for Mother. The Simple things in Life Mother got the most pleasure from.

Around 1962, She pretty much desired a change from the Heartbreak she encountered over a short span of time and opportunity came from one certain Family. Mr Calvin Cook ,a Gentleman in the airforce with 4 Young children. Mr Cook and his wife offered transportation across Canada, travelling to his new station placement in Courteney Comox.

As mother explained it to me ”I was sitting on a higher slope elevation and I could see them load up Allied Van Lines,it was now or never”

This ultimately was the cross road in Mothers life. The Move to British Columbia.

Mother did Home Support upon arrival working for a few different people, Courteney Comox area and Bowser. Then one day while responding to an ad in the news paper she met and eventually Married Mr Ron Heiman and the Family Grew, In Port Alberni 11th Ave.

There were other places of residence over the decades.

Mother said to me a few days before her medical event,”I've had a tough life” This was True but Mother had an inherent courage and zest for life,usually handles the Challenges in her life with Grit and determination.I Hope You always knew,We were so Proud of You and Loved You for Everything that made up Betty Jean Heiman.

Nana could light up any Space with her Radiant Smile, laughter,kind and caring manner. Mother had an outgoing welcoming disposition in personality and life in General, Loved by many Friends over the decades, most have passed on.

Mothers Spirit is Free now, Gone to be with Her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. No more suffering , Free as a Bird. One of Mothers Favorite verses in the Bible was Romans 8:28 And we know all things work together for good to them that Love God, to them that are called according to his purpose. Mother always kept Her Christian Jesus Faith starting as a little girl.

Often Mom read the little Daily Bread before bedtime. Mother Loved the Salvation Army that went way back ,before she left Nova Scotia as a Young lady.

Nana was a People person but also a Pet lover and many felines and a dog Buddy are just a few that found Haven at Nanas place ,soon to be adopted .Mom had 5 cats and 1 dog ,all strays that were Loved right to the end till passing of the animals. Lets see, there was , going way back, Bowser ,Sparky, Dozie,Butch, Buddy for the Dogs side and for the cats Cleo the purple persian, Bear, James a siamese, and Tommy the tab, I think there was another. Sorry Mom.

Mother liked her Sports too. She was a 10 year season ticket holder for the Port Alberni Labatts int med A Hockey club that I attended also. Mom Loved that era and of the different teams and their players.The Canucks, Blue jay baseball. During the Mid 1990s she Travelled to Las Vegas a couple times and won a tournament on a slot machine with then boyfriend Jim.

Mother took one Train trip with her 2 oldest sons in 1967 across Canada.

Music was always present in The Heiman Home ,,,,Mom Liked Charlie Pride,Waylon Jennings Willie Nelson,,,her records The very Best Everly brothers,Herb Albert South of the Border, Hermans Hermits on tour and many others. On a Musical note, Mother went to a Johnny Cash concert in Late May 1958 ,and after the Concert received a Fan kiss from a Young Johnny cash. 17 at the time. What a Memory!

What Mother Loved most of All was Her Family and took Great pride in them and what each of them accomplished especially Her Grandchildren, often looking forward to see them for a visit and hearing what news they had to share about school or anything. Nana always prayed for Her Family.

I Hope You knew this Mother,,,How much we All Loved You and Proud and Blessed we were to Have You as our Unique Mother. Forever Gratitude and Love from Your Family Forever!! You were the HEART of Our Home and We Miss You so much.

You left us Suddenly and caught the Train, the Jesus Train to Gloryland, We will All meet up again down the line, up in Heaven with Jesus. So don't worry Nana, Mother,,,,Jesus Loves You and Forever will!

Mother Leaves behind Her Loving Companion and closest Friend of many years Claude Gallant.

In Claude's word “Claude Loves You and Misses You terribly. You will be with me Forever. May the Birds guide You on Your Journey to Jesus in Peace and serenity. Thank You for All the Joy You have Given me and Someday we ll meet again.Rest in Peace and You will never be Forgotton. Claude--and Thank You for Everything.Miss You!!!

Survived by Precious Daughter Sue (Rick) Hale and Family, Brantford Ontario and sons.

Barry “Thank You Mother for All those Wonderful Moments and Memories of the Love You shared by word and example and the Gift of Music You encouraged thru Your choices of music and Your words,more than You would ever realize and for putting up with my practicing, I'm sure it was too much at times ,hopefully I can do You Proud with it and pay it back in the future. But I Know and Remember,Always will.Thank You for this Blessing,Truly Grateful Thank You for walking me to my 1st year of grade school at Calgary Elementary School Calgary.,,and All the Minor Hockey ,for watching and driving me to the games. You did so much for me and All of us.I Love You Forever, We will meet again....."Some Glad morning when this Life is over,I ll fly away, to a land on Gods Celestial shore,I ll Fly away" Rest Mother, A Peaceful rest ,with Jesus.

Mother liked Song,Mom was a shy singer ,once she got singing She really enjoyed it.I remember a recording we did on a simple tape recorder Years ago.

Mom like those old old classic folk songs ,,,,like Happy Trails, Mockingbird Hill, Put another Nickel in, in the Nickelodeon, All I want is Loving You and Music , Music Music! and this one You are my Sunshine ,my only sunshine,You make me Happy when skies are Grey,You ll never know Dear How much I love You,Please don't take our Sunshine away,Please don't take our Sunshine away,oh please don't take My Sunshine away.

Thank You to All Medical Doctors and nurses who caringly attended to Mother over the span of many decades.Thank You to the first responders who did an amazing job during transport.

Mother was a "proud stay at home homemaker", sharing her love and raising her family, there was a window in the early 1990s that Mom did work a stint at Sea Prime in Tofino during there seasonal work and She enjoyed this so much,,,cleaning salmon" at the end of the line". Mother loved working with her co workers especially Danny. Did this for a few short seasons before it closed.It was always a Happy Memory for Mother. Thank You for those at Sea Prime in Tofino."

In the mid 1970s Mother enjoyed her Boat trips with Ron and Shirley Smith and their sons Roland and Bill Smith ,boating down to Kildonaan, proudly wearing her Orange Floaters Jacket Mother didn't get on the water much but were grateful that these experiences happened for Mother.The Smiths were Dear Friends of Mothers and Family Friends."

Thank You to All Medical Doctors and nurses who caringly attended to Mother over the span of many decades.Thank You to the first responders who did an amazing job during transport. The family would to finally Thank Major Michael Ramsey of the Salvation Army and All the people who prayed for Mother during this difficult time and to Michael and Jenny and Min Wu for the Lovely Christmas plant that kept Mother company while in palliative Care. Thank You Everyone. Gods Blessings to You All! "
