

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Maria, his children Giovanni (Carol) and Paola (Mike) and grandchildren, Connor, Rylan, Marissa, Alyssa and Nicholas. He is predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Angiolina, sisters Regina and Lauretta and brothers Emilio and Raffaello.
Giuseppe was born in San Massimo, Italy being the youngest of five siblings. Giuseppe decided to take an adventure and join his brother, Emilio and move to Port Alberni, BC in 1956. Once settled he was joined by his future wife Maria to embark on this journey together. Giuseppe and Maria married on October 8, 1966 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Port Alberni BC. Their son Giovanni arriving the following year and their daughter Paola arriving in 1971. Giuseppe worked at Alberni Plywood Mill for over 30 years until its closure when he chose to retire at the age of 57 years old.
Giuseppe was happiest being with his family and loved ones, always making sure they were well fed and taken care of. He also loved making his own wine with fresh crated grapes. He and his wife could regularly be seen strolling along the Harbour Quay.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Meyer, Dr. Johnsen, Dr. Woodley, Nurse Margaret and all the staff at Ty Watson House for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Giuseppe.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17th at Holy Family Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church
