

Linda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Port Alberni on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. She was born in New Westminster and raised in Nelson, B.C. The oldest of 10 children, Linda graduated with a nursing degree from BCIT and started her career at the Vancouver General Hospital. Upon moving to Port Alberni in 1973, she worked at the West Coast General Hospital and with Home and Community Care. She was passionate and dedicated to both her family and career and was an active member of the community. Linda loved traveling and shared many adventures with her sisters. She was an avid quilter, sewer and crafter as well as a member of the Community Arts Council Board for many years and thoroughly enjoyed her Sorority Friendships.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Gladys and Arvid Schneider and mother-in-law, Freda Boyce. She is survived by her loving sons, Jamie Boyce (Ali Grovue) and Colin Boyce; brothers, Darvin, Fred (Mary-Lou), Wayde (Louise), Laurie, Clinton (Joanne); sisters, Ava, Karren (Kim) Harrison, Wendy (Jim) Favel, and Denise, as well as 11 cherished nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held 6:30p – 7:30pm Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Chapel of Memories, 4005 – 6th Ave, Port Alberni with a Funeral Service at 1:00pm, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Chapel of Memories with Father Marek Paczka officiating. Interment will take place in Nelson, BC. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca.
