Marcia Eileen McGowan

Marcia was predeceased by her husband Clyde McGowan, of Port Alberni, BC and her brother John Rice of Colorado, USA. She is survived by her three children; Dan McGowan of Lloydminster, AB, Reg McGowan (Lynn) of Port Alberni, BC, Connie Chretien (Norm) of Fort St. John, BC, her grandchildren; Joe, Danielle, Kassandra, Natasha, Emma and Ellie, and her great grandchildren; Julia, Tatum, Abigail and Aurora.

Marcia was born in Digby, Nova Scotia on January 12th 1935 to parents Wilfred and Eva Rice. She moved to Port Alberni and in August of 1958 she married Clyde Chester McGowan, who was from Bear River, NS. Marcia was a quiet, hardworking woman who loved her children and worked hard at making her house a home. She loved the many, many cats and dogs that she had as pets over the years. Marcia went to the First Baptist Church for well over 50 years, helping out in any way she could. She made the best apple pies, dill pickles and also many different jams, which were always enjoyed by her family and friends.

As per Marcia’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service held. There will be a small family gathering which will take place at a later date.
