Nancy Lalonde, born on August 17, 1937, in Berwyn, Alberta, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 88 at West Coast General Hospital. She was a resident of Port Alberni, British Columbia, having moved there in the early 1950s. Nancy graduated from ADHS in 1956 and subsequently worked at PWA until her marriage to her husband, Al Lalonde, in February 1957. Together, they had two sons.
Predeceased by her husband, Al Lalonde, and her son, David Lalonde.
Survived by her son, Doug Lalonde (Laura); grandchildren, Karlie Komjati (Chad), and Nicholas Lalonde (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Jacob and Liam.
Throughout her life, Nancy was an avid curler and dedicated 33 years to volunteering at the hospital auxiliary. She was actively involved in supporting her sons' sporting activities. Nancy cherished her 47-year marriage to Al, during which they enjoyed travelling, visiting, and playing cards with their many long-term friends. Known for her sociability, Nancy loved engaging in conversations, particularly with her friends and family. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
