Bob passed away peacefully on July 21, 2019, at Echo Village in Port Alberni, BC. He was born on May 12, 1935 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He is survived by his loving wife Janet; sons Kelly (Denise) and Kirk (Marion); daughters Kerry (Dwayne) and Jo-Ann; step daughter Sandra (Joe); stepson Kevin (Mel) and one sister Gay Luski; grandchildren Aaron (Mari), Morgan, Robbie, Melissa (Brendan), Matthew (Jessica), Kristy (Carson), Jodi, Jilian, Kyle, Shawn, Jamie (Katlin), Luc (Jordynn), Alixe (Mike), Jasmine and Jeremy; great grandchildren Dechlan, Hana, Jackson, Judah, Alexander, Thomas, Karter, Kale, Corey, Gracyn, Benjamin, Fisher, River, Autumn, Henri, Forest and Ember. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as two sisters-in-law Connie and Marie, and many friends.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Orbery “Mac” McGiffin and Hilda Mae “Jackie” McGiffin; his brothers Orbery JR. and Orval as well as his sister Joy.
Bob will be remembered for his love of all his family members, his love of telling stories, playing jokes and tricks on people, his “magic” tricks with children, his love of sports, music, dancing and in later years, travelling with Janet.
The family would like to thank Dr. Damien White for his care of Bob for the past seven years; the nurses and staff at Echo Village (he loved you all), as well as the staff at Fir Park Village where he enjoyed the Adult Day Program until last January. We appreciate all your help and loving care of Bob.
Cremation has taken place. No service by Bob’s request. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
