Patti will be dearly missed by her husband, Cameron Scott; her daughters, Susan Grant and Sydney Scott; her son-in-law, Taylor Hohmann; her granddaughter, Mackenzie; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, on July 01, 1951, Patti was the fourth of five children born to Robin & IdaButler. She grew up on the family farm, experiencing the rural life, complete with carriage rides to the one-room schoolhouse and the infamous party line for phone calls.
Shortly after graduation, Patti said goodbye to the prairie fields and followed her eldest sister, Joyce, to the lovely West Coast, where she called home for the remainder of her life. After spending most of the 70’s and 80’s working in Vancouver’s vibrant downtown core, she married Cameron Scott, and the two eventually settled in Port Alberni.
Patti was a strong woman who gave much to her family. Her latest delight, was in the birth of her granddaughter, Mackenzie. The two had a very special bond and shared many smiles (and head bonks) over the last few years of life.
Patti always had interesting tales to tell about her life experiences - everything from swanky parties hosted by mining companies in Vancouver, to squid jigging off the docks in Bamfield. Her sense of humor was witty, and her wordplay was supreme. She will be remembered as a remarkable cook, with a knack for creating a delicious meal out of almost anything.
May she move onto her next chapter with a jar of green olives, some imperial cheese and her news-talk radio always going.
Cheers to you, Mom.
