Peter passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey; daughters Cheryl and Brenda (Owen); grandchildren Jesse Martin (Jaleesa), Chad, Trinity and Jack; great grandchildren Kianna and Mason.
Pete was born in Renown, SK and spent his life loving his wife and family, working hard and being kind. He was much loved and will be sadly missed.
Pete moved all over Saskatchewan with his family to accommodate his father Daniel’s CPR position, finally settling in Regina. Pete graduated grade 12 and went to Seattle and Columbus, Indianna for trade school in Heavy Duty Mechanics, passing with full honours. Pete was also a self- taught, mulit-talented mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician and BBQer. In reality the man could do anything and did!
Pete met Audrey in Regina and it was love, love, love at first sight for both of them. They raised 2 beautiful girls; Cheryl and Brenda and gave them everything two little girls could want; a good home, great Christmas’s and wonderful holidays camping all over Canada and the USA. Audrey, Cheryl and Brenda had everything they could have ever wanted.
Pete enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He finally got his “son” thru his first grandchild Jesse, whom he doted over and spent much time with. He spread his loving arms wide open for all this grandchildren and great grandchildren. He often enjoyed having “how many can we eat” competitions with his grandson Jack at McDonald’s over Sausage McMuffins!!
This past summer, Pete was blessed with the opportunity to see how “Little Marty” had grown into a wonderful young man with a family of his own. Pete also got a taste of his great grandchildren Kianna and Mason last summer. You could not wipe the ginormous grin off his face and all he could say was “This is great, just great”.
With all the family sitting around Pete & Audrey’s kitchen table, Pete asks Chaddy if he wants a smoke!! Chaddy said “but grandpa I don’t smoke” to which Pete replied, “well I won’t tell anyone”. And then the time, a big plate of hotdogs was in front of Pete at the kitchen table and he turned to Trinity and tried to sell her one for $3.50; or the time their pet names were discovered when Pete called Audrey “Mrs. Kubianka” and she replied “well, if I’m Mrs Kubianka, you’re Mr. Palluka”.
Pete had a great appreciation for family, not just his own but all of his friends and extended family members. He loved life and he sure lived it. He was happy and willing to help family, friends and was often heard saying “My wife, my life”. “All I want is to make Audrey happy”, and he did.
The family would like to say thank you to Chad and Trin for helping grandpa. You guys were there for him when he needed you. The family would like to thank Owen for soooo many things. It’s too many to mention. But the biggest part was his undying support for Brenda, Audrey and Cheryl. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital and also thank you for the amazing support we received when Dad came home. Colleen, RN and the homecare girls who were absolutely incredible, professional and compassionate.
Have fun in Heaven while you’re waiting for Audrey.
We all will meet again.
Have fun in Heaven while you’re waiting for Audrey.
We just have no idea when.
Have fun in Heaven while you’re waiting for Audrey.
Bless you, we love you. AMEN
