Predeceased by his parents; Zachary and Lena; brother Henry; sister Anne; inlaws Paul and Mary Rewakowsky and brother-in-law Lawrence Rewakowsky.
Survived by wife Rose; son Richard; the biggest joy of his life, his grandson Brett; brother Walter (Joyce); as well as nieces and nephews.
Born in Rackham Manitoba, Peter moved to BC in 1956 at the age of 20 and worked on the highway to Ucluelet and Tofino until 1958. He started working at Somass Division running the service Crane for years where he was known as “Bullmoose Pete”. Later he became an oiler until his retirement in 1999. Peter also ran a plumbing business for over 30 years.
A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, April 26, 2013 at the IWA Steelworkers Union Hall, 4904 Montrose St.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to donations in Peter’s memory to be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #401 – 495 Dunsmuir St, Nanaimo, BC., V9R 6B9.
