Romeo passed away at home with Terri by his side. Although Romeo has had cancer for a very long time he had the most amazing attitude we have ever seen. What ever went wrong, or whatever treatment he had to undergo, he just said, “ok let’s do it! I have car shows and ball games to get to!!” Never once did we hear “poor me”!
Romeo was a man with many friends, many interests and lived every moment with energy and joy. Whether he was on the ball field and that booming voice was heard for miles around, or driving to a car show, he always had a smile a twinkle in his eye and a quick wit, that made us all laugh so many, many times.
He wore many hats during his life time, that of son, brother, husband, father, step-father, brother-in law, nephew, father-in law uncle, uncle-uncle, grand dad, nephew, cousin, chef, logger, camp worker, log loading operator, ball player, car enthusiast, volley ball player, disc golfer and recently he was getting into horse shoes! He enjoyed country music, and dancing. He had his own language, calling friends “old socks” and children pepperoni’s or salamis”.. Dancing to him was chugaluggin.
When I think of Romeo I think of a man who treated all people with respect and kindness, but God help you if you stepped on his toes, or did him wrong. You only did it once and from that time on you just were not a part of his life.
He was a man of honour, integrity and he loved life, and lived each and every moment of each and every day to the fullest. Hard working was an under statement, stubborn, very private, and a fighter. I have never seen anyone fight harder to live than Romeo.
He was my husband, my friend, my lover, and my soul mate, he shall remain that until the day I die.
