

He was born in Sonipat, India on August 10th 1979 to Kumud and Jasbir Chauhan. He grew up partially in India as well as Vancouver before he pursued his successful military career in CANSOFCOM. He served our country for over 20 years and had achieved many awards of excellence through that time.
Sonny Chauhan was known as a Strong resilient man who emulated humility and generosity. He was a highly intelligent and dedicated man to his career and his travels as well as his family. Sonny had a passion for cars and racing as well as travelling the world; he had visited 41 countries in his time, Brazil being his favorite.
Those who knew Sonny know that he was always up for spontaneous fun and adventure whenever there was an opportunity. He firmly believed in living for today and collecting as many life experiences as you can, “keep fighting.” he often said as well as. “do it once, and do it right the first time.”
He is survived by His Three young daughters, Shannyn, Sibylla and Neelu, as well as his grandson Dean.
His celebration of life will be held privately by his daughters with date and time to be announced.
The family would like to deeply thank Chapel of Memories as well as veterans affairs representative David Thomson for all the compassion and support they have given through this sensitive time.
Sonny will forever be deeply loved and missed by many.
