oh my dearest uncle I no I never seen you often but you use to phone my mom to ask how we were doing, I can still hear your laugh as I would walk up to you n auntie Vi at a dinner to give you a hug and say my name and ask me if I still lived in the states I would say yes, I will always remember ur smile ur laugh ur hugs, big hugs to our chester family, love you all,

Shelley, you dad will be missed and remembered as a kind and amazing soul, with a generous smile, and great presence.  His knowledge and wisdom will be remembered. You are a reflection of his life and his strength will live through you.  All my thoughts and prayers.

My uncle will be missed--although I didn't spend much time with him these past few years---my teen years after Residential school carry the most memories--- I remember our first morning boarding the but to head to school in Lake Cowichan--he took pics of us in mini skirts and knee high socks--he liked memories of first time events--I spend a lot of time at their home as a teen--and he always had good stories of my mom and dad--and some of him and auntie Rosie--we were always laughing about something--I will miss his laughter and also his serious side--we knew he meant business when his voice became loud--I respected him for that--and we could never get away with anything--I will miss you uncle--forever in my heart--   love from Lo

I have nothing but fond memories of my Grandfather Stan. When I was a boy and in my youth he always treated me with kindness, generosity and respect. He would signal from his doorstep hollering at me to come and visit with him. He would always make me come into his home and he would instruct Rosie to give me a snack or sometimes an entire meal, and he would talk to me, joke with me or ask me how I was doing. And he would always tell me that we were closely related and that I was his Grandson. I think that like most people from that generation they found it easier to relate to their children and grandchildren than they did with each other. My Grandfather Stan was resigned to being sympathetic, proud and distinguished. These are characteristics that I possess, and I like to believe that in some way my Grandfather Stan had some part in shaping these qualities within me. I will sorely miss him, for our community has indeed lost a great man and a great treasure. I know he'll be cheering with me tonight - GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!

I remember Uncle reaching across the table with his fork to get a bread. I remember Uncle calling me Karrots, every time he saw me. I remember going out to get a Christmas tree with Uncle and I would keep asking where were going and he'd say "hunting", I would reply, "hunting what" and he'd say "hunting Christmas trees". I love you Uncle, you will be dearly missed by Me.
