Surjit Kaur Dhaliwal Rai

Predeceased by her husband Kehar Singh Rai, son Sukhvinder S. as well as her brothers: Rattan S., Channan S., Lashman S., Gurdas S., Sadhu S., and Darshan S. She is survived by her three sons: Karamjit S. (wife Manjeet), Hardial S., Saba S. one daughter Surinder K. (husband Balbir S Bhala); grandchildren: Shauna, Shane, Tyson, and Harley as well as her sister-inlaw Avtar K. Dhaliwal and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Surjit Kaur was an active and longtime member of the Alberni Valley Gurdwara Society, where she fully devoted herself in volunteering and in prayer. She also loved gardening, dogs, and spending time with friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday April 2nd, 2011 at the Chapel of Memories 4005-6th Avenue with cremation to follow at the East Indian Society Crematorium. Following the cremation, prayers will be offered at the Alberni Valley Gurdwara 4741 Montrose St. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
