Walter passed away in Port Alberni on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He is survived and was deeply loved by his wife, Dorothy and their eight children: Maria (Brian), Joseph (Holly), Linda, James, Francis, Michael (Carolyn), Christopher, and Walter Jr.; his grandchildren: Alyssa, Avery, Charles, Jaydlin, Jesse, Leo, Lucie, and William; and his siblings Betty, Edwin, Frank, John, Mary, Paul, Philly and Theresa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter had a distinguished career as an educator. In Alberta, he was a Superintendent of Schools. Walter was a school teacher for the Alberni School District #70 where, over the years, he had a variety of different positions, including Hospital Homebound Teacher.
Dad/Walter: you were loving, kind, generous and loyal: We miss you, our hearts are heavy and sad, and you are in our prayers and thoughts.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni with Father Stephen Paine officiating. Stories and condolences may be left for the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
