It is with broken hearts and regret that we announce the passing of Wayne MacDonald. Wayne passed away in his sleep due to a short battle with cancer.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents Audrey and Harold MacDonald and his older brother Roger MacDonald. He is survived by his fiancé Irena LaRochelle; his children: Ken (Erin) from Vanderhoof, BC, Nicole from Port Alberni, TJ (Melissa) from Port Alberni, Brandon (Brandy) from Port Alberni, Shelby from Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Jocelyn Miller, Tyson Miller, Kash Miller, and Miesha LaRochelle; sister Starr Bigmore of Port Alberni; and brothers Butch (Renate) MacDonald and Leroy (Elaine) Macdonald, both of Port Alberni as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne had an infectious laugh and smile that could brighten up anyone’s day. He loved to hunt and fish, hike trails, and take pictures of surrounding scenery. Wayne was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He had a big kind heart and the gift of gab as he could make friends anywhere.

According to Wayne's wishes, no formal service will be held. Stories and condolences may be left for the family at

He will be missed dearly, but will forever be in our hearts.

We would like to thank all the doctors, home care nurses, family, friends and management at Ucluelet Harbour Seafoods for everyone’s support during this time.

Wayne was and always will be an amazing, loving, giving and forgiving man in my life. Wayne and Irena shared a lot of family ties with my family even though we didn't know it , we also shared a lot of love to people who mean the world to us. I want Wayne and Irena to know that our love will always be there, we are family. The unconditional love you both gave to all, will always remind me to share a smile, a minute, or just a moment to share kindness. I am honored to say Wayne was my friend.

June 2016 - I was new to UHS. That was irrelevant to Wayne; on the spot, he treated me with Respect. From that day forward, I had only the same Respect for him.

Thoughts and Respect go out to his Loved Ones🌹
