Ysbrand Rikkers

Predeceased by his parents, sister Jennie Oosterom and 2 brothers-in-law, he is survived by his family: Nelly his beloved wife of 56 years; children: Henry (Corinne), Anita (Martin) Pater and Irene (Adriano) Sandri; grandchildren: Travis, Corey, Brandon, Christina, Stefano and Isaac; step grandchildren: Alora and Ryan; great grandchildren: Cailyn and Sophie; sister Nellie as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Ysbrand worked as a millwright at the Pulp Mill in Port Alberni for over 30 years. When not working Ysbrand enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting or fishing. He always had a big smile on his face and combined with his easy going personality, he was easy to like. His biggest love and greatest joy however was his family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4850 Regina Ave, with Rev. Laura Hargrove officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
