Mary Jorissen age 98 of Port Angeles passed on February 10, 2013. Mary was born in Fingal, North Dakota, on December 16, 1914, to John and Johanna Wurzer. Mary was the youngest with three older brothers.She attended schools in Fingal. Gerrit Jorissen and Mary were married in 1932in Fingal , North Dakota. The Jorissens moved to Port Angeles in 1955. They had four children and were married 53 years until Gerrit's passing in June 1985. Mary was thankful to have many wonderful caring friends and neighbors. She enjoyed travel, crafts and playing pinochle and bingo at the senior center. Her family and attending church were very important to her . Mary was a homemaker most of her life and was employed for 10 years at Angeles Home Health Care. Mary was a devoted member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary , visiting parish members with prayers and communion. Her husband and three brothers preceded Mrs. Jorissen in death. Survivors include her sons, Jim( Gail) of Santa Rosa California, Paul ( Diana) of Waterford, Michigan and Robert ( Gloria) of Port Angeles, Washington; and daughter MaryAnn ( Don) of Casper, Wyoming. She has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Harper Ridgeview Funeral Chapel , followed by and inurnment at Mount Angeles Memorial Park , 45 Monroe Rd. Port Angeles, at 1p.m.
