Antoinette Rodriguez Eden, 94, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1930 at “little Bellevue” hospital in Manhattan, New York, she was the middle of five children of Rocco and Catherine (Amato) Vulcano. She grew up on the East Side of Manhattan and was always proud of her Italian heritage.
In 1947 she married Manuel L Rodriguez, her loving husband of 49 years, until his death in 1996. In 2003 she married Thomas H Eden, her loving husband of 22 years.
In her lifetime, she was a bank teller, secretary, and volunteered her time for many causes. She was a fabulous cook, and a master at crocheting. Countless babies have been covered by her beautiful blankets. She was joyful and loving to all who knew her. She always had an optimistic and fun attitude, never hesitating to play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Quick on her feet and armed with a sharp wit, she was known for her snappy one-liners that could light up a room. Her humor was a gift—one that brought joy, comfort, and countless smiles to those lucky enough to be in her presence.
Antoinette, Aunt Antoinette, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma leaves a wonderful legacy. She is survived by her loving spouse Thomas Eden of FL, her loving daughter Antoinette Donato of NY, her four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Bradley of NY, Sarah and Stephanie of ME, and her many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, her first husband, and siblings, Vincent, Catherine, Pauline, and Florence.
We celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever echo in our hearts. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her legacy of kindness, strength, and grace will live on through the lives she touched—her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to call her a friend. We will carry her memory forward with love, gratitude, and the promise to honor her beautiful spirit in all that we do.
