Arthur Frederick Seppi

Arthur (“Art”) F. Seppi, 75, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born March 26, 1950, in Springfield, IL, to Arthur and Dorothy Seppi. Art was a graduate of Divernon High School class of 1968. He attended Northern Illinois University. Art was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Brindisi, Italy during the Vietnam War, working in Intelligence in Eastern Europe and Russian communications.

He built a distinguished career in real estate and development as a managing agent of Charles Robbins Realtor, working alongside his late best friend, Charles (“Charlie”) Robbins. He served as the President of the Springfield Realtors Association and as the President of Illini Country Club.

He was an avid motorcyclist and golfer. Most days you could find him on the golf course at Illini Country Club or Riverwood Golf Club, out fishing or enjoying an evening out to dinner with his wife and good friends. He was known not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for his sharp mind, strong work ethic, and steadfast dedication to his family and friends.

Art is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Sue Seppi; his mother, Dorothy Dickey Seppi of Mesa, AZ; his daughter, Shae (“Alex”) Seppi of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his two sons, John (Sarah) Duval and Jeff Duval of Springfield, IL; his two sisters, Cheryl (Steve Schmidt) Dambacher and Connie (Terry) Goodin of Mesa, AZ; his five grandchildren, Cassidy Duval, Cameron Duval, Lincoln Duval, Francesca Duval and Alison (TJ) Gates; and several nieces and nephews in IL, AZ and NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Seppi.

Art’s legacy is one of strength, integrity, honesty, generosity, and quiet resolve. He will be remembered for his unwavering support, his wisdom, his jokes and the deep love he had for those closest to him.

A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held at a later date in Springfield, IL. In honor of Art’s life and service, donations may be made to a veterans’ organization of your choice.
