He was born October 5, 1937 in Rocky Mount, VA. He called Franklin County his home until March 2007, when he moved to Port Charlotte. Berlon served in the United States Navy until 1977 and returned to Franklin County after service. He was a mason and a past Master of Isaacs Lodge No. 29, Boones Mill, Va. and District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District No. 39.
His parents, Eldridge H. and Callie M. Kingery and two brothers, Clyde E. Kingery and Howard W. Kingery, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Judy and children Rebecca Kingery, Pamela John Szczesniak, Robin Snyder and Steven Kingery. Three granddaughters, Amy Nicole Culpepper, Kimberly Oakley and Ashley Kingery also survive him.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Port Charlotte Chapel. A Memorial Service will also be held Saturday, May 16, 2009, 1:00 at Gogginsville United Methodist Church, Rocky Mount, Va. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
